🔴 2023 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon – Clone 7

Vineyard Provenance: From a revered gravel-rich vineyard on the northeastern floor of Napa’s legendary Oakville AVA—home to cult wines like Screaming Eagle and Harlan Estate.
Winemaking: 100% Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon. Extended maceration, aged 22 months in French oak, egg-white fined for finesse.
Profile. This is Oakville Cabernet at its most composed and compelling—structured, dark-fruited, and quietly powerful. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, and violet rise from the glass, layered with dusty leather and cocoa powder. The palate unfolds with macerated blue fruits, dark plum, and savory threads of mocha, allspice, and anise. The tannins are firm but finessed, shaped for age, and softened by a supple mid-palate. A wine that lingers in all the right ways—long, resonant, and grounded in place.
Comparable Wines: Oakville single-vineyard Cabernets from top producers regularly command $125–$175 per bottle. Past Donelan cabs have been rated 97 points by Decanter. 2023 is one of Napa’s finest vintages of the 21stcentury

🔵 2023 Sonoma County Syrah

Vineyard Sources: A masterful blend of Knights Valley intensity and Green Valley coastal nuance—two of Sonoma’s most expressive Syrah terroirs.
Winemaking: Native yeast fermentation, 21 months in French oak (68% new), bottled unfined/unfiltered.
Profile: Aromatic and savory—violet, black pepper, smoked meat, olive, and yuzu. Rhône-like depth and poise. The nose is layered and expressive: violets and lavender open first, followed by smoked meat, cracked black pepper, and a savory core of olive, leather, and tobacco. Dark fruits anchor the palate—blueberry, black cherry, and ripe plum—lifted by raspberry brightness and a flicker of yuzu zest. The structure is vibrant and focused, thanks to lively natural acidity, while moderate tannins offer polish and poise, gliding into a long, savory finish
Comparable Wines: Donelan’s single-vineyard Syrahs(Richards Family, Cuvee Keltie) routinely receive 94–99points and retail for $100–$150.
